Baby Two ~ 18 Weeks

How Far Along:  18 Weeks - Baby is the size of a sweet potato, which seems really huge to me!
Boy or Girl: I've gone back and forth on boy and girl all week...
Maternity Clothes: Almost exclusively wearing them with the exception of a couple dresses. I have a gift card to buy some more from Gap/Old Navy but am having a hard time finding anything I like. Everything just seems so cheap and casual. I don't know....
Sleep: Been sleeping really well this week!
Best Moment: David transitioned to his big boy bed and he's doing so well. He was so excited about it, which was really cute.  The crib is officially in "the office" which we will transition to the baby room at some point.... Also, the baby asprin is helping my leg, so so much! I was shocked! I hope it keeps working and I wish I would have known to try it years ago!
Worst Moment: David got a little tummy bug yesterday. He was better in an hour (I'm not even kidding) and just kind of lazed around with me all day today while I stayed home with him. So, could be worse I guess!
Miss Anything: I still miss food and my appetite.
Movement: Had a couple "quiet" days, but today there's been lots of thumping around! Still can't feel anything from the outside, but hopefully soon!
Cravings: Apples, Cool Ranch Doritos, Chocolate Milk/Hot Chocolate
Aversions: Fried food (all of it is a no-go at this point), ground beef.
Oh, I remember this: Painting my toenails is getting hard!
Well this is new: So thirsty!! I remember last time I had to force myself to drink water. Not this time! I cannot get enough!
Looking forward to:Starting to clear out the office and pick out a paint color. I'm starting to get real anxious to get moving on that baby room!

Baby Two ~ 17 Weeks

How Far Along:  17 Weeks - baby is the length and weight of my iPhone!
Boy or Girl: Most people are saying girl. I still say boy.
Maternity Clothes: Need more. Most of my tee's from last time are so worn out. Plus I also don't have any tank tops? Definitely need tank tops.
Sleep: Hit or miss. When I sleep, I sleep really well. When I don't, I'm up all night.
Best Moment: All this nice weather! We have been spending a lot of time with the neighbors and their kids. We are lucky that we live in a cul-de-sac with a bunch of young families, all with kids David's age. Plus two of my immediate neighbors are also pregnant! We are all trying to enjoy this spring as much as we can because come late summer and fall things are going to be a lot different!
Worst Moment: I've been having a LOT of leg pain. It's mostly the reason I'm not sleeping. My doctor gave me some suggestions and put me on baby asprin today, so hopefully that helps.... Also Ted our Great Dane broke his toenail really bad, Zach's with him at the emergency vet as I type. Sigh.
Miss Anything: Wanting to eat. While my nausea is gone, most things still don't sound very good.
Movement: More and more every day! Feeling some rolls and tumbles too!
Cravings: Still Apples. Also orange juice, unfortunately my body doesn't do too well it with so I can't have it very much. I'm also really loving ramen noodles.
Aversions: Ground beef, fast food, Mexican and diet coke are the big ones right now.
Oh, I remember this: My stomach is starting to stretch a lot and I can feel my abs separating. I was hoping it wouldn't hurt as much this time, but it is...
Well this is new: Major pregnancy brain. I am forgetting everything! I do not remember it being this bad last time, but maybe I just forgot about it. Ha!
Looking forward to: David gets his big boy bed on Saturday. I am both really excited and horribly sad about it all. Fingers crossed he does alright!

Baby Two ~ 16 Weeks

16 Weeks

I wanted to be sure to document  my pregnancy again this time. Last time I just kind of wrote what’s on my mind, but this time I think I’ll do the more structured questionnaire that floats around the inter-webs . I did remove the questions about weight gained, stretch marks and the status of my belly button (you’re welcome).

Still not sure on belly shots this time around. I might just keep those to myself. We'll see.

How Far Along: 16 Weeks – baby is the size of an avocado or a grenade (you know, whatever)
Boy or Girl? – Thinking boy this week.
Maternity Clothes – Mostly, but still wearing some normal dresses and tops. So sick of having to wear boots. Come on, summer!
Sleep – Had a couple rough nights early this week, but I’ve had two solid nights of sleep in a row. It’s been glorious. I’m thanking my pregnancy pillow that I finally gave into using.
Best Moment – Pretty sure I’m starting to feel the baby bopping around in there! Also, my "morning sickness" is so much better (all-day sickness really). This baby really gave me a run for my money in the sickness department and I even had to go on anti-nausea medicine to help get me through the days and be able to eat. I've been off it for 4 days now, so knock on wood, I'm finally in the clear! It was a very long three months....
Worst Moment – Had what I think was my very first migraine on Monday. Ouch!
Miss Anything – Aleve. My “bad leg” is giving me lots of trouble and typically Aleve knocks it right out. Tylenol is hit or miss.
Movement – Little pops here and there, mostly low and in the middle or over to the right.
Cravings – Apples! Cucumbers & tomatoes with ranch dressing. Mamba’s candy.
Aversions – Mexican food. Anything with lots of cheese. Fast food. (what in the world!?)
Oh, I remember this – My jaw has started popping again. Happened last time too and totally freaked me out. Now at least I know it will go away after the baby is born.
Well this is new – Sciatic nerve pain!  It’s almost crippling at times but usually only hits if I stand in one place and do something for a while (cooking, laundry, waiting in lines…) It’s really bizarre and no amount of stretching has seemed to help.
Looking forward to – Easter brunch, my doctor appointment next week and feeling more kicks!

Baby TBA is on the way!

I'm due in late September!

Zach and I are over the moon excited!  David still has no idea what's going on, but I'm pretty sure he's going to love being a big brother.

(and as of now.... no, we aren't finding out what we are having!)

Updates to come!

Five Years of Ted

Today, that Teddery Dude turns 5 years old.

He's getting "up there" in terms of Great Dane years, but I still think he's got quite the life left to live. He's still spunky as can be and frequently gets a wicked case of the "zoomies" whenever I get home from work. Although his favorite activity is definitely lounging on the bed.  If we aren't watching he will take it upon himself to un-make our bed just so he can get on the sheets instead of the boring ol' comforter.

He is sure to check on David first thing every morning. "Ted's sniffing me!" and David is sure to give Ted a hug before bed each night "I give Ted a hug!"  Those two.

I typically call Ted "Theodore Winston" (his proper name) and at one point David tried to say it and instead called him "Doo-Doo Weeson" and it stuck.

So, Happy Birthday, Doo-Doo Weeson!

Happy Birthday Moo!

My Missy My Moo is 6 years old today. To say she's the most loyal little dog in the world would be an understatement. We never have to ask "where's Missy?" because almost always, she's at my side. Even at night when I'm sleeping, she'll curl up next to my wooden nightstand to lay on the floor next to me instead of a few feet away on her dog bed. She's patient with David and will let him give her "hugs" all day. Her only fault is her love for plastic and wooden toys. "Missy chewed it" is a common phrase heard 'round our house, but how can you be mad at that face for long? So, here's to 6 years, my moo and many, many more.....

Picture Catch-Up!

Oh yeah... My blog.  Kind of went dark there for a while, no?  Oh well, better late than never with the updates, right?

Halloween!  David was Mickey Mouse. I made the costume myself and I'm pretty sure it will be my last homemade costume attempt. While it turned out just fine, I ended up stressing myself out way too much over it. And really, all I did was sew two buttons on a pair or red shorts and paint some knock-off crocs yellow. Yeah, real difficult. Our culdesac went all out this year. It's crawling with kids all around David's age, so our neighbor made a hayride! He had a big farm tractor and trailer and hooked it up with lights and everything. David was in heaven! He had so much fun on that thing. He even did some trick-or-treating, just like the big kids! It was so much fun. We are lucky to live in such a young neighborhood, it's about to get real crazy with all the kiddos!

David turned TWO in November! We kind of had a really tragic photo deletion incident so I don't have a single picture to share. Luckily the grandma's took several, I just need to remind myself to have them send me the files or hard copies. Note to self! We didn't have a big party or anything, just had the grandparents and aunts and uncles over. I made a Mickey cake and we had pizza. I'm keeping birthday's low key for as long as possible! He got a lot of fun presents and had a great time though!

He's been such a fun two year old too. His vocabulary has completely exploded and we can now carry-on real conversations! He's still pretty advanced in the talking department (though I don't know how advanced) so people are always amazed that he's only just turned two. It doesn't help that he's also in the 98th percentile for height. He's an old soul, just like his mama.

Christmas came next!  Oh man, did he get into Christmas this year, or what?!  He pretty much "got" that Santa was some guy who comes to the house with presents. In fact he still says "Santa come to my house TOMORROW!" nearly every day. Ha! We took him to see Santa at Independence Center a few weeks before Christmas. He seemed pretty excited about it. He was fascinated by the mall (especially the escalators!) and kept saying he would sit on Santa's lap. Our turn came and I sat him down. We were able to get a couple good pictures in before the screaming started. I picked him up immediately and we went on our way, but if you ask he'll tell you pretty proudly that he sat on Santas lap!  Christmas morning was really fun. He was so excited about all his presents. Santa brought him a wood table and chair set, a weed-eater, a shovel, slippers, a lot of pretend food and plenty of other little goodies. He now insists that "Santa bought" nearly every toy in the house. Ha!

Oh yeah! We got a new nephew! Sam came along in mid-October!

first bowl of "basta" at great-papa's!

So that about brings us up to date! Mostly just wanted to share some pictures.  I hope to get back in the blogging swing here soon!
