Diet Coke

I'm currently in the process of giving up my beloved Diet Coke.  Oh the fizzies, how I love them. I never really drank a whole lot of pop before I started working.  Not even in college! (mostly because Northwest had gross Pepsi) I've never been able to drink coffee, so I turned to Diet Coke instead. My one can a day habit is slooowly being cut back.  Right now I aim for just 3 a week (and man do I look forward to those 3...). Then I'll hopefully cut that back some more, but who really knows. I've been down this road before.  I was trying to be strong today and just drink water, but the day (and the headache) got the best of me and I had to give in. There's always tomorrow! I've been doing good, just have to hang in there...

Stephanie, I gave up Diet Coke (and Coffee, Diet Pepsi/Diet Dr. Pepper/etc.) cold turkey for two weeks after Thanksgiving, due to feeling like I had a food and caffeine hangover! Before that, I drank probably a 2-liter per day! I didn't really have chemical withdrawals (headaches, etc) but after the first week I no longer went to the fridge out of habit. Now, we simply don't buy soda, except sometimes when dining out. I drink a lot of healthy water and save money, too!
